It’s a Match!!

We are thrilled to announce that we have officially been matched with a birth mother!! We got the call from our agency last Thursday about a birth mother who is having a baby boy. They went over some basic information regarding the situation and explained that this was a unique situation and they wanted to match her very quickly. The agency gave us until mid afternoon to let them know if we were interested or not. We, of course, said we were. We got the call that we had been matched at 5 o’clock  that evening. To say the least, we were in shock! I still get chills when I replay our conversation with the match coordinator. We shed lots of tears and laughs and still can’t believe we have a baby BOY coming in December. Our birth mother’s official due date is December 9th, and we cannot wait to meet him!!

It is crazy how fast it all happened and how smooth it was. It really all just fell into place perfectly. It was the first time we had been presented with a situation and we are truly grateful it worked out. It was completely unexpected and exciting to be chosen so quickly. We had only officially been “active” with our agency about two weeks. Tom and I were so relieved we didn’t have to wait long. We have a little over three months until her due date which gives us plenty of time to prepare, go baby shopping and anxiously wait for his arrival.

So, now the fun begins. For the first time ever, we will get to do a baby registry, walk in a baby store and not feel uncomfortable and even have a baby shower. This is a fun and exciting time for us, it has been a long time in the making. The best feeling in the world is we know we have our Grace on the other side, giving her little brother a pep talk and taking care of him. She has been with us through this entire process, and we feel her presence daily. As much as we miss her I feel comforted knowing she is working things out on the other side.

We had the amazing opportunity to talk on the phone with our birth mother today and she is incredible, This picture was taken shortly after we got off the phone. She was very sweet, kind, genuine, and just wants to give her baby a wonderful life. We are so touched by her great strength, selflessness, and love. We would ask that you keep our birth mother in your prayers. She is facing such an incredibly hard decision. We pray for a healthy pregnancy as well as peace, comfort and that she feels our love and prayers for her. Now that we are matched, half of our agency funds are due and the rest will be due at placement. Adoption is so expensive, and although worth every penny, it is daunting. If you feel as though you would like to donate, our GoFundMe is still active (link is in profile) and we will also be doing more fundraisers. We have faith that all will work out and that Heavenly Father will provide. We are so thankful to all of you for your constant love and support! We couldn’t do this without all of you.
